Lesson Plan for Buffalo Bill Virtual Website

 Objective:       The students will be able to see how the westward

                                 expansion took  off at the Mississippi, how the Indians

                                 played a role in civilization,  how the  river was a mode

                                 of transportation with the steamboat,  and how a city

                                 grew out of the need of Upper Mississippi River Pilots. 

Skills:                 Students will look through the interviews and create a

                                 written analysis. 

                                 Students will write three paragraphs, with

                                 expectations to have a quiz to be taken at a later date.

Completion:   Students will be given this assignment over night and

                                 be expected to have the written analysis turned in the

                                 next day.  This lesson will work in conjunction with a

                                 unit on Westward Expansion.

Needs:              Students will need to have access to a computer, pen

                                 and paper.
